Redux brings chef Ubhaus back to Madison

Looking up the word redux in the Oxford dictionary online, I see it defined as "brought back" and "revived." In a general sense, those meanings fit chef/owner Rob Ubhaus' latest restaurant venture by that name. But specifically, it is like neither of its predecessors in Madison, Resto and Rob's Bistro.


Resto was quite French; Rob's, located next door, had a lower-key tone and menu. Both were on Madison's Main Street...

Redux, Meaning “Brought Back,” Is A Delight
Chef/owner Robert Ubhaus was lured back to Madison to open Redux, and we could not be happier.

Redux is a most appropriate name for this new restaurant, as it is a Latin word that means, “brought back” or “revisited.” Chef/owner Robert Ubhaus has opened his new restaurant a mere half a block away from his previous restaurants, Resto and Rob’s Bistro. After looking throughout New Jersey for the right location the “food gods” lured him back to Madison, and we could not be happier.

Redux features Modern-American small plates, using local ingredients as the season allows. There are two dining options: a 32-seat main dining room or the chef’s counter in the kitchen that seats 10...
